1. How does this service work?

With Web Builder, you will be able to create, edit or delete website content. Track your visitor count at the same time to know how well received your site is with analytics. Be able to upload over 30 file types and create, edit, delete web pages and change web page layouts of your site. Now you can manage and add new secure site sections and also help optimise site for search result and online marketing outcomes to increase your site's effectiveness.
 
2. What are the benefits of using this Web Builder?
The benefits of using Web Builder include: Complete control of creating the website; reduces the technical complexity; rich-text editor to edit the text; compatibility with all leading web browsers and no installation of software
 
3. What is the minimum system requirement?
Minimum requirement is access to any of the following web browsers: Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox V14 or Safari.
 
4. Can I migrate the content from my existing website to the Web Builder?
Yes, you can copy and paste the content to the Web Builder.

Post-sales FAQs [+/-]

1. Where to access to the control panel?

The dashboard/ control panel is located at the top of every web page
 
2. How do I know if the content has been saved when there is no save/publish button?
The Web Builder has an auto-save function where the content will be saved once the user leaves the page.  A small pop-up window will appear to indicate that the content has already been saved.
 
3. I want to go back to the instruction page to download the instruction slides but I was directed straight to my website. How do I go back to the page again?
You have to log out from the Web Builder and launch the app again. 
 
4. How do I receive the online feedback from my customers?
Firstly you have to go to ‘Site’ then ‘Set profile’ to update your email address. After which, the online feedback notification will be sent to that particular email.
 
5. How do I insert those apps?
Drag and drop the apps to the block of content
 
6. Can I customise the layouts?
No. All the layouts are pre-set.
 
7. Can I upload my own theme?
Yes you can. Go to ‘Themes’ then select ‘MyThemes’ . Click the orange little icon to show the CSS, and then click ‘Upload’ to upload your own theme. If you know CSS, you can download the default CSS template by clicking the ‘Download’ button and edit according to your preference.
 
8. Why some of the content do not show up correctly in mobile browser?
The system would attempt to optimize the page content to fit within the mobile browser. However, in some instances, the system would not be able to do so which cause certain content to appear out of alignment. These are usually caused by tables/ images or non-consistent formatting within the page.
 
9. Will the content of my website be affected if I upgrade to eShop Builder?
No, it will not be affected. 
 
10. Is there any backup of data at the backend?
Data will be backed up daily at 3am and it will be stored for a week. After which, the data will then by transferred to an external storage system for a month.
 
11. Can I delete any sensitive comment from the discussion made by the public?
Yes. Just click the ‘delete’ icon located beside each comment. The administrator has the authority to delete the comments. Members of the public do not have any right. 
 
12. I am unable to see the customers’ particulars that they have posted on the discussion board. Why is this so? 
Ensure that your Web Builder is in the editing mode and then mouse over the names to see other information such as organisation and email.
 
13. I cannot add the event calendar or online feedback form to my page. Why is this so?
Check to see if either one of these widgets is already on the page. Only one widget can be added to a single page at a time.
 
14. How to create a drop-down of subpages when I mouse over the sections?
Go to the page that you wish to have a drop-down of the section. Then go to ‘Sitemap’ and select ‘Settings’ to activate the drop-down function.

Technical FAQs [+/-]

1. Is the system able to recover the content for a page that has been accidentally deleted?

The system does a backup of the website content daily. We would only be able to recover the content of a page that has been created more than 1 day ago. You would need to provide us with the Page Title as well as the date that the page was deleted in order for us to recover the content.
 
2. I have finished making all the necessary updates to the site and wish to publish my website. How should I go about doing so?

3. Can I have more than 1 domain name for the website?
No. Each website can only be associated with 1 domain name.
 
4. Can I request for a backup copy of all the content in my website
Yes. Please contact helpdesk with the request and provide your email address. We would send you a link to download a zip package containing all the data once we have compiled your website information.
 
5. I have already developed my website in HTML files. Would I be able to make use of this system to host these files.
No. The system is a Content Management System and does not provide website hosting functionality.
 
6. I was not able to receive feedback email sent from the system in my mailbox
A problem you could be facing: Your email server might be blocking the email sent out from the system. Please try changing your email address from the "Site" > "Set Profile" page in your website. Should the problem persist, please contact our technical helpdesk at 1606 for assistance.
 
7. Can I change my website domain name?
Yes. Please contact helpdesk with the URL for the new domain name and we would update your account accordingly.
